Final arrangements are in place for Scottish Churches Housing Action's upcoming seminar Homelessness: achieving the 2012 pledge?
The seminar will take place at 10 am on Friday 30 September 2011, at City Chambers, High Street, Edinburgh EH1 1YJ.
Keynote speakers will be Mary Taylor, Chief Executive of Scottish Federation of Housing Associations, and Raymond Young, a long-standing housing activist and commentator. Alastair Cameron, Chief Executive of Scottish Churches Housing Action will report on interviews held over the last month with senior staff of local authorities and faith-based voluntary organisations - drawing out the themes as we approach the Scottish Government's crucial 2012 target on homelessness.
Participants in the event will be asked their own views, and these will feed into a major report, to be published by the end of 2011.
The event is held jointly with the Church and Society Council of the Church of Scotland.
Places are free, but must be booked in advance. Email amullen@cofscotland.org.uk, or tel 0131 355 5722, and ask for Agnes Mullen.
