Scottish Churches Housing Action will hold a public meeting in Inverurie, Aberdeenshire, later this month to encourage churches to do more to help homeless people locally.
The meeting will take place at the Acorn Centre, West High Street, Inverurie AB51 3SA, at 7.00 pm on Tuesday 22 November.
Alastair Cameron, Chief Executive of Scottish Churches Housing Action, will be one of the speakers. "We have been invited by the local housing associations," he explains. "They find many people who have been homeless don't have the basics to make a house a home. We know that churches can help, by collecting decent-quality second-hand essentials to make up a starter pack. This meeting is to set out the need, and encourage churches to get involved."
All are welcome to the meeting, which will also be addressed by Judith Sutherland, Housing Manager with Grampian Housing Association.
